Breakfast / Lunch & Snacks: Breakfast will be served starting at 8:00am in accordance with the food program we are enrolled in. You may still provide breakfast for your child in the early morning; however, they must be here early enough to be finished eating before 7:15 am. No breakfast will be eaten in the classrooms. Any food brought in or unfinished after 7:15 am will have to be discarded due to participation in the food program. Candy (gum, suckers, etc.) will not be allowed at any time, with the exception of party days.
Nutritious meals providing healthy well-balanced options are served daily. A weekly menu is posted for your convenience both in our entryway and online at Kidsharbortx.com. Our menu is subject to change; you will be notified by a posted notice of any change. We serve an afternoon snack which usually consists of juice, toast, cookies, pretzels, fruit, vegetables and dips, etc.
If a child has a special diet or a food allergy, we must have a signed Doctor’s release on file. If your child cannot eat what we provide due to religious purposes, you must have a note on file and provide a lunch for any day that is necessary. It is your responsibility to furnish all meals if your child cannot eat what we provide for the day with refrigeration and heating instructions. All food items must be replaced with its equivalency. Example: A protein must be substituted for a protein, a milk (almond/soy/lactaid) product must substitute for a milk product, etc. All staff members are made aware of students with known allergies and have access to allergy action plans.
We employ safe meal practices. Liquids and food hotter than 110F are kept out of reach of children. All meals are prepared in a commercial kitchen that is inspected by local health officials.
